Brangus and Ultrablack cattle to meet the needs of the range, the ring and the rail
Why Brangus
The Brangus breed consisting of a 3/8 Brahman and 5/8 Angus genetic blend was developed to take advantage of the superior traits of each said breed respectively. The hardiness, heat tolerance and maternal instincts of the Braham breed are unmatched, while the carcass qualities, fertility and milking ability of the Angus are historically well known and documented across generations of cattlemen. Therefore, when breeders and researchers started combining the two breeds in the early 1900’s….it simply worked! These “new” Brangus cattle exceled in expressing both their genetic and phenotypic qualities, while producing the highest level of hybrid vigor. Fast forward to the 21st century and the Brangus breed is thriving and positively affecting the beef cattle industry across the United States.
Here at the Wild M, we chose the Brangus breed based on a friendly recommendation back in 2008 and we sure did fall in love. Having seen first hand how the cattle were thriving in west Texas, we decided to “take the leap” and haven’t had a second thought since!
